A customer of ours has shallow gas well with decreasing volumes. They needed to downsize their existing compression from 500HP unit to a ~200HP unit – Caterpillar 3306TA Gemini H302 2 stage Reciprocating Compressor.
One of our units fit the bill. However, we had to move it from the field to the yard to begin reconditioning. Opening the unit led to some surprises. However, despite those surprises, our contractor’s hard work, and some rushed parts, we got the unit ready and off to its new home.
Scope of work; remove unit from field, inspection, replaced compressor-new, 1st stage cylinder-new, 2nd & 3rd reconditioned, piping dry vacuum, screens/witches hats, 1st stage coalescer replaced, starter rebuilt, engine good as is, psv(s) reconditioned, panel rebuilt, auto low recycle replaced, pressure control valve inlet added/missing, TI replaced, etc. Paint, Test Run before deployment.
